We put our own together and our 'yardsmen' found it to be extremely helpful. We found the short video on the Hse web site a good starting point (http://www.hse.gov.uk/workplacetransport/safetysigns/banksman/banksman.htm) which gives a demonstration of all the hand signals from the HS(s&s) regulations. We extended the training to include legal requirements, risk assessment, positional techniques, crush zones etc. "Waste and Recycling Vehicles in Street Collection" has a good section on this type of stuff (available at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/waste04.pdf) and the hse website has a good section on reversing vehicles (http://www.hse.gov.uk/workplacetransport/information/reversing.htm) Usual competence rules apply though - both on the person compiling and presenting the course.
