Hi can i seek some opinions on this one please. I'm fully aware that RTA's are not a requirement of RIDDOR however can i get some advice on whether RTA's, which result in either major injuries or fatalities should be included in reporting accident statistics to third party organisations when competing for new contracts, etc?

Normally on a PQQ the questions are framed as a request for the total number of accidents, in which case RTIs would be included in the total; and in one way or another as a request for the number and type of accidents reported to HSE. If the PQQ asks for 'major injuries' I would interpret that in the RIDDOR sense. I would only mention RTIs on public roads if they were sepcifically asked for or if there was a question such as 'Have you had any fatal injuries resulting from accidents'. In other words, for me it would be about how the question was framed, John
