Hi all, Could someone point me in the direction of details on the requirements for a temporary works coordinator while working on a demolition project. Just looking for the black and white detail (regulations) stating that it is required and what is expected. Thanks

Gerard No specific requirement for a TW co-ordinator in legislation, though CDM Regs 28 (Stability of structures) and 29 (Demolition or dismantling) set out broad duties. BS 6187 has various references to temporary works requiring to be designed by a competent engineer. P

Not aware of anything specific to demolition. Generally, the bible is BS 5975:2008 "Code of Practice for temporary works procedures and the permissible stress design of falsework". Section 7 of that std deals with the temp. works co-ordinator [and t.w. supervisors].
