I have had a quote from a firm called Tunstall Telecoms for the remote monitoring of patients on a dementia ward. This involves such items as bed occupancy mats, bed wetting mats, chair occupancy mats, fall indicators, etc. The general idea is that if the monitoring devices detect a situation, e.g. patient has got out of bed then it will radio an alarm condition to the nurse station. The question is that given the level of spend on these devices I have to find two other potential suppliers to obtain quotes from, does anyone know of firms that operate in this areas of patient life sign monitoring ?

Hi greenhm, I believe this company are the UK market leaders in this area but sorry I cannot recommend anyone else as I have no experience of others. Based on a client's previous experience with this provider, you may be advised to check that the service you are signing up for is capable of handling multiple simultaneous signals (eg "help" and "fire") and that the receiving centre can differentiate between "immediate threat to life" and "I am very uncomfortable"
