Rank: Super forum user		I was hoping someone could direct me to where I could purchase some safety posters, specifically on mechanical hazards. Im hoping to start raising peoples awareness on the risks associated with moving machinery, and I like to purchase some posters, which Im struggling with. Any help appreciated.

Rank: Super forum user		Hi Guru, I find it has more impact if you have ones that are bespoke to your own company. I make my own based around photo's, graphics or cartoons I've had drawn by a cartoonist. If you fancy giving this route a try drop me a pm.

Rank: Super forum user		My concern is that posters and signs are so prolific now that people have developed "sign blindness" and no longer absorb the message that is being passed on. Less is better ....

Rank: Super forum user		Simple rules for use of posters:- Post them where they can be seen; Make them relevant or topical; Use minimal text; Make them bright and bold; Change them frequently.

I've decided to follow safety smurf advice and make my own using pictures of our manufacturing line, so it relevant. Thanks again.

Agree - The last chemical plant I worked on used a series of posters with real images of injuries of injuries from the actual machines (including amputated finger - with IPs permission of course) It was shocking and real and had an amazing response - however like all things it only works for a short duration.

Rank: New forum user		Part of my role is to be involved in Lean issues,Visual management is a good tool.I produce graphic posters including a monthly newsletter,with a health & safety topic each month,using photos or cartoon's, and are placed not only on the H&S boards,but by the clocking machine's. best practice I find,is to follow up on the shop floor and talk to employee's.I make them funny and change on a regular basis.
