I read it Jay and while I thought the conclusions were valid, the key flaw to my mind was that nowhere did they reference the 20000 figure that they came up with. The only named external source quoted was the HSE - "just over 8,000 deaths are caused each year by occupational cancers". But even that wasn't referenced. Unless the TUC more clearly shows how they came up with the figure and show their calculations, the scientific basis for these and any assumptions they have made - then it risks being dismissed. If you're going to hang contentious conclusions on a figure, then it's best to make sure the figure is bombproof. ...But other than that...
