Hi All,
Please can anyone help me urgently, I've tried searching various food, catering, brewery associations without any luck but now running out of time as I need to get this done by end of day.
I need to prepare some guidance on glass washing and distribution at public venues, does anyone have something of this nature or give me some pointers for inclusion.
I need to consider the obvious hazards and possible controls that could be implemented ranging from a handful of visitors to 000's in a community hall, school hall, large field.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Solo!

Soloman,
Not my area but the following comes to mind:
I would have thought that in large venues, especially outdoors it might be the norm to use plastic glasses for public events... sometimes an insurance driven area?
Smaller venues... consider if children would use?
Obvious handling and clearing up breakages
Protection of skin whilst washing -- dertergants, heat, water
Storage, stacking etc

Noise is a factor to consider depending on the venue, as well as managing aggression and violence!
Manual handling also rears it ugly mug!
For public events stick to plastics in my opinion, it will save you a fortune!

You asked about glass washing. Why not use plastic glasses that will be disposed of after using. This reduces the need for washing, and handling and storage, but, does raise the issue of litter collection. You will need to provide waste bins to prevent them being just thrown away after use. You will need to ensure you have enough to hand as a shortage could reduce the amount of sales you could bet/
