Hi all, just wondering if anybody has any information on lifting equipment (baskets, gin wheels) in relation to should they have a CE marking or if having them tested to have a SWL is suffice?

They should have a CE mark, and have the SWL clearly marked on them. The manufacturer should have some way of proving to you that the item has been designed, manufactured and constructed in accordance with the relevant standards which apply. Does that help?

unless it is equipment you have made specifically for your job, and its not intended for sale to the market, then proof testin and SWL would be applicable, but CE wouldn't? Holmezy
