We are looking at moving some office furniture around and would like to move 1 particular peice to an area which would mean it would be directly under an A/C vent, this position would give us 125mm from top of unit to vent.
Would this be sufficient for air circulation?

Is the air vent part of a standalone unit or is it ducting feed from a larger system and has multiple outlets.
If it's ducting from a larger system then i would imagine it would make little difference a ultimately you could completely close of the vent and the airflow would just increase to the other vents.
If it is a standalone unit then it could cause issue as 125mm isn't much of a gap, how much of the vent would be obscured by the object. it would probably effect the airflow to those working in the area other than that probably little difference you could either slow down the fan speed or switch it off altogether

Working on the premise that you have your aircon serviced regularly, consider how your service provider will access the unit and as for clearance as the same people if the space there is suffice as they are the 'experts' in that field.
