I've been asked if I can locate a good one for the purposes of staff training. I'm going to trawl the usual (HSE, RoSPA, Brisith Safety Council), but wondered if anyone had any good examples?
We train manual handling assessors on IOSH level courses to oversee the assessment process, but some people still wish to provide staff with simple advice to help reduce the risk of injury.
Any thoughts gratefully received.

We recently purhcased a DVD from Safety Media on manual handling.
There is a couple to choose from, and reasonably priced. you can get them out on a 7 day trial and decide which one suits your needs.
Personally we found the classic version a tad dated and opted for the updated version.

Ian,
The one I use is 'Manual Handling Essentials' and is available from www.hs-group.com It has one of the former Gladiator girls as the presenter, which definitely keeps your attention... ahem.
Hope it helps

I seem to remember a good DVD being called 'Child's Play' (not the one with the possessed doll in I hasten to add!!!). It showed that Good Manual handling technique is actually something we use as children and its only in later life that we 'develop' poor handling techniques. Not sure where to get it but always remember it from my early training days.
