Hi all, I have been tasked to arrange an audit for a onshore diver training tank. Whilst I am familiar with diving regulations I have very little practical experience with the health and safety auditing of such a facility. Can anyone perhaps point me in the direction of a person(s) who could help or provide a competent auditing service? Thanks in advance. Ian

Talk to professional divers / support teams as a starter [Not amateur's who think that they are professional!] and the management regs are a good starter to use as your base line and the rest of the 6 pack + Fire & First aid all apply Saturation divers/team support would be best but I doubt that many are readily available and note that such things are/ should be manned by team players that are competent so that makes things easier

Fewy, The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) requires all training establishments (whether diver training schools, companies with in-house facilities or independent bodies) intending to run any course as part of an IMCA certification scheme (e.g. Trainee Air Diving Supervisor, Assistant Life Support Technician) to submit to an initial audit (and subsequent periodic audits) of that course by approved IMCA auditors. The relevant document is IMCA D 005. The appropriate course of action therefore is to confirm with IMCA that the facility you are considering has passed its D 005 Audit. Regards, Ross
