Hi all, I am looking for some literature regarding the change in the safety culture in the construction industry, great strides have been made over recent years, I am looking for history regarding what brought about the shift in culture and how it was achieved. Thanks, Steve

If you can get hold of a copy, I would thoroughly recommend you look at "Managing health and safety in construction: principles and application to main contractor/subcontractor projects" Published by CONIAC in June 1987 (seven years before CDM) Two part document full of very good information on how construction was then and how they wanted it to go. Didn't quite achieve it though! the introduction on page one is very illuminating (but too long for my little fingers to type). Rodger Ker
