Linezy Its hard to advise without knowing the industry and each interview is different, but these are all things that i have been asked in interviews before - - What's the difference between 'health' and 'safety'? - Tell me what you understand about behavioural safety? - A site youve worked on has had one accident and 10 dangerous occurences, which one was the most serious issue? - A manager constantly ignores your advice what do you do? - You find your boss acting unsafely what do you do? - The carrot or the stick? - Someone on site doesnt like wearing their hard hat and asks if they can sign a waiver would you let them? - Tell me what you understand about the CDM regulations (insert any piece of legislation relevant to your business there)? - What is the difference between hazard and a risk? - What are the things you would expect to look at when visiting a construction site (insert any business in there) - Whats the best way to motivate people to work safely? Hi, Questions I was asked in a recent interview were; What characteristics do you think a good Health & Safety officer needs to have? How would you motivate employees to become interested / aware of Health & Safety? What experience & skills do you have that set you apart from other candidates? Can you tell me what the main hazards would be in this industry? How would you manage those hazards? Tell me about an accident you have recently investigated from start to finish? What dealings have you had with third parties / i.e contractors, HSE, local authorities? Describe a time when you have had to work under extreme pressure and how you dealt with that? If it is a role that is not looking for a lot of experience you can guarantee that the questions will be more personality based than about your experience - they will be looking to see if you can fit into their company and be moulded. Find out what their mission statement is / aim & objectives / corporate responsibility projects / environmentalism and through your answers try to demonstrate that you are the match that they are looking for. Don't forget to look all the interviewers in the eye - be confident - pay attention to detail - remember they don't know anything about you other than what they have on the paper in front of them and sell yourself! Good luck Don't forget to have thought out some questions for yourself to ask at the end and make sure you have done enough research into the company!
