Hello Sarah
My wife was an occupational health nurse for many years. Forget anything about NEBOSH because it won't really help you. There is nothing in the general certificate about occupational health and only a very small part of unit B in the diploma about occupational health. You will need to take the OHNC or OHND which is the Occupational Health National Certificate and Occupational Health National Diploma, or at least they were when my wife took them.

Hi Sarah I'm an Occupational Health Nurse. Most courses these days are at degree level and must be approved by the NMC to enable you to get on the register as a OHN once you have completed the course. You will need to contact the NMC or the RCN Occupational Health specialist group to obtain a current list of approved courses. Some of the courses will incorporate the NEBOSH certificate, a health & safety qualification does not allow you to call yourself an Occupational health nurse.

Hello again. Just to say thankyou to the people that replied! im still struggling a bit I looked up the OHNC or OHND which is the Occupational Health National Certificate and Occupational Health National Diploma, and the NEBOSH course is the one that keeps coming up! Does anyone know what i do next?
also I contacted the NMC and the OH course there you have to have one years experience. i have sent my CV to a manager in OH who is holding onto it for training posts and im in contact with another specialist agency that does OH nursing. Any other suggestions??
