Hi all
I work as a health and safety advisor on a construction site. I was wondering if everyone would like to share what Initiatives / ideas they've brought in to play / run with in their businesses.
One example I use is that we have an "emergency card", which is filled in by the supervisor for each job, and it gives the basic safety information to be used in case of an emergency, it gives things such as the nearest telephone, the number to call, the information to give the emergency services (i.e. exact location, where to meet them etc).
What safety schemes does anybody else use?

When I worked in construction we posted a list of useful contact information in our site office, also ensuring it tied in with the PC systems of what measures to take in an emergency as was also placed into the construction safety plan

Hi,
There was a chap from Asda Walmart called Clive Johnson who gave a cracking presentation at an East Anglia branch seminar earlier this year on changing attitudes and behaviours in construction H&S. There may be some stuff in his presentation which would give you some inspiration:

Stu.
This presentation appears to have misused the findings of the Heinrich and Bird even more than some other behavioural safety commentators.
The bottom of the pyramid in the Heinrich triangle is Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions.
This presentation ignores the latter.
There's a commentator in the US who advocates not guarding machinery in case something goes wrong with the guard. Instead we train people not to put their anatomy at risk. Tell that to those who drafted the highly successful Power Presses Regulations 1965.
