I am the health and safety manager for a manufacturing company, I have passed my diploma in 2009, I need advice on IPD, i.e. Is it worth going for it, as I will not be starting my own business in consulting, any views would be helpful,

Regards
Terry

Speak to your employers initially to see if you will get any financial benefit from carrying out the IPD to achieve CMIOSH.
Before you speak to your employers identify all benefits to the company from the route you will be undertaking whilst also identifying all the benefits to yourself personally.
Give consideration to your job security.
Give consideration to your ambition.
Give consideration to your current job role and opportunities that are available currently and what may arise.
Personally I am finding it value for money, and an opportunity to improve myself.

All the best

Terry, of course it is worth going for.
Firstly, phone the membership department of IOSH and get all the facts and some free impartial advice.

Terry, I am in similar role to you, in manufacturing and just finished the diploma. Just waiting for the Grad IOSH upgrade then I will be straight into IPD. The job looks secure and I am not planning on setting up as a consultant but, having been made redundant three times and not getting any younger, I have to make the commitment and back up plan to get CMIOSH. And anyway, you have come this far why not get this next step?

Terry, did you make that all important call to IOSH?
I hope you did and that you will appreciate the benefits of going for CMIOSH, good luck for the future.
