Hello, I thought I would ask if anyone on here has solved the problem of obtaining oil mist exposure values of light oils (5 & 8 cST weight). HSE guidance MDHS 84 gives good guidance if your oil is above 18cST. I am in discussion with a specialist company and have had limited success so far with HSE. The suggestion is that when there is no specific method then a viable alternative conducted by a reputable company is reasonable action. Has anyone had any expeience of similar issues measuring light oils and what action solved the problem? Many Thanks

Paul I don't have any direct experience but, as an occupational hygienist, I would use an adsorbent tube, rather than a filter, for volatile hydrocarbons. LB
