Oil Mist Measurements of Oil less than 18cST

Hello, I thought I would ask if anyone on here has solved the problem of obtaining oil mist exposure values of light oils (5 & 8 cST weight). HSE guidance MDHS 84 gives good guidance if your oil is above 18cST. I am in discussion with a specialist company and have had limited success so far with HSE.
The suggestion is that when there is no specific method then a viable alternative conducted by a reputable company is reasonable action.
Has anyone had any expeience of similar issues measuring light oils and what action solved the problem?
Many Thanks

A meaningless reply but...
I am currently reviewing an oil mist problem but out sourced it to a specialist occ health provider. When I get some results and know what it was I was looking for I might be able to help more.
then again.... :)
Good luck, I am happy to PM the name of the person who did our testing if required, but it sounds like you have it in hand.
My oil mist might be above 18cST I have no idea - happy times :)

I don't have any direct experience but, as an occupational hygienist, I would use an adsorbent tube, rather than a filter, for volatile hydrocarbons.
