I understand that a fracture to any bone other than fingers and toes are reportable under RIDDOR but we have had a guy slip in the snow and fracture his knuckle. Not sure whether he has fractured the base of his finger bone or the bone of his hand that it is attached to. These bones are also referred to as "finger bones" in medical publications. The employee is back on normal duties and finished his shift. Any suggestions as part of me says yes it is and the other part of me says no. Thanks

Ring up ICC and ask - I've always found them very helpful. Dave

I understand that HSE aren't keen on their stats. being skewed by weather issues. There would have to be some direct significance to work or work activity. In any event, I wouldn't call this as a Major.

Thanks for the feedback. I have contacted the HSE who informed me that they consider the knuckle to be part of the fingers! So not reportable.
