American Hard Hats in the UK

Does anyone have any info to indicate that American Hard hats rated to ANSI Standard Z89.1-2003 are suitable for UK use?? regards John

Presumably these would have to be type-tested and certified against the PPE (supply) Regs for legitimate supply in the EU/UK.
