Hi Alan, There is a suggested list in the ACOP L74 Para 37 found here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l74.pdf

There is no mandatory list of items to be included in a first-aid box but the ACOP/Guidance give a suggested list for low risk workplaces. The decision on what to provide will be influenced by your risk assessment as you say. You refer to workshops but do not say what the workplace is; you might consider such things as eye wash, burn dressings, and tweezers. Also have a look at the MSDS's and include anything that might be relevent for any nasty substances that you may use. Review your accident records and discuss with your first aiders for suggestions. I guess we can assume you are aware of what does not go in a first aid box.
