A query has come my way from our Estates workers who occasionally are required to clean up dog waste inside a building.
Situation is a member of staff relies upon a guide dog as they are vision impaired. Occassionally (its happened twice), the dog will "do a whoopsy" on the office carpet. Obviously, there are regular "comfort breaks" for the dog and staff member factored into their working day, but the Estates staff manager has asked if we should prepare a standard operating procedure.
Not too sure that there is a real issue here, but for the sake of consistency and good practice I think we should prepare something. My first thoughts are polythene waste bags being made available, poop scoops, vinyl gloves and maybe oversleaves and a deodorant/disinfectant; rather like a bio-hazard spill kit.
My question is, does anyone out there have a procedure and/or what are their thoughts on my initial outline above?

Have you tried contacting the RNIB? They may already have something.

There was a similar question in the health and safety for beginners website not that long ago. The link to a document called "cleaning Up the act" was given there. have a look. I think loads of good info in the subject.
