Hi All, Our company uses gel filled portable batteries to power certain portable appliances, often for extended periods. Can anyone tell me if there are any safety issues involved? I have been reliably informed that these do not 'off-gas' when charging as they are sealed units. At the moment they are being charged on a desk in an open office, which I have my concerns about, however that is the only 'reasonably practicable' area at the moment. I have issued the INDG in relation to battery storage and charging but wondered if 'gel filled' batteries are any safer!
