I'm sure there's guidance out there somewhere for design and dimensions to consider when thinking about reception facilities for dealing with memebers of the public and site visitors. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks

Have a look at BS 8300 access routes and dimensions for access routes to and in buildings, this may give you guidance on your requirements

Don't forget accessibility issues for wheelchair users - loads of stuff on the www for that, including Part M ( I think - check that) of the Building Regs.

Dont forget that if a computer is to be on the reception desk the 'work station' must comply with the DSE regs for anybody likely to be at the desk i.e. laptops are not really suitable. Additionally the Equality Act applies e.g. the desk should have a 'drop-down' for wheelchair users

And don't let the Receptionist keep improvised weapons on the desktop; scissors, letter openers and the like can be used by angry disgruntled members of the public
