Question for any signs experts out there.
Somebody wants to put a sign on a final fire exit door to the effect that this is a fire exit and must not be used for general egress. My initial reaction is that there is nothing / no 'law' (although I stand to be corrected) against using a fire exit door as a general exit, ands I have advised accordingly, so this is going to be a local in-house instruction.
I cannot see a sign in my catalogue that covers this scenario and am wondering whether any such sign should be Blue for mandatory or Red as prohibited, and also what would be a appropriate wording. At the moment thay have a handwritten sign on the door saying DO NOT USE THIS DOOR - FIRE EXIT ONLY.
All sensible responses welcome.

I would opt for safe condition signage used for normal fire exits. The text would say something like..
'Exit for emergency use only'

We had a similar situation, a door which was only to be used in an emergency. We used the same sign suggested by guru.
