Rank: Super forum user		Maintenance should be carried out by a competent person (usually a specialist contractor) 12 months after installation of a new extinguisher, and at 12 monthly intervals thereafter.

Rank: New forum user		Hello Yes every 12 months your fire extinguishers should be inspected by a competent person. My advice is to keep a registered plan of all located fire extinguishers this should include type and details of dates inspected and due date as hard evidence.

Rank: New forum user		My company will carry out its own visual inspection by a competent person checking for dates or any sign of defects and also by a company called Fire Tech, make sure that you have all of their relevent details showing their competency and ask for copy's for your records.
