Phoning any reputable high street opticians seems to be the most obvious answer.....does it not?

The back cover of SHP always seems to be an ad for Specsavers* and their prescription safety specs. *Other opticians and suppliers of prescription safety specs are available. I have never been to Specsavers so can't vouch for their service/price. But I did get a nice pen from their stand a the H&S event in Bolton's Reebok Stadium in 2009 ......

We have used Specsavers for the last 12 months. Simple voucher scheme; one voucher for normal specs and eye test (£57), second voucher (£35) for vari or bifocals upgrade. No issues so far. Prices are from memory as I don't re-order too often

Just paid £72 in total, £40 for the glasses (single vision) and £20 for the dispensing fee plus tax.
