When working on a roof what would the max speed be before operatives where told to come down
The roof has full edge protection, but part of the method statement requirements they have asked for a specific speed measure by our anonmeter that all work must be suspended
I would suggest 25mph but would like other input
There is a hoarding around the building and the public is protected. The roof is within the boundaries of the building
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Alan

There is a HSE guidance document on this subject:
http://books.hse.gov.uk/...alogueCode=9780717662500
At my last place we had a limit of 20 mph. Working on a roof was only done for repairs, so it wasn't an everyday task. It was decided that the 20 mph level was sufficient.
