We are about to begin a face fit testing for disposable masks for our operatives and want to train up a member of staff to do the qualitative testing.

I ams truggling to find any courses where you can train an individual to do this or even information on what training is required.

Any help is much appreciated.

There was fairly recent thread on the subject (about a month ago).

Generally the major suppliers will provide a free train the trainer session, ideal if you haven't already bought the kits but you could probably do it retrospectively if you already have them.

Good luck

I have just purchased a kit from arco cost in the region of £100 ,they will send some onee out to train the trainer if you purchase your masks off them ( even a couple of boxes) it also comes with a dvd training aid. Simple to use would recommend if it is only for disposable masks. ie dust, etc

sharks

I have used

http://www.face-fit.co.uk/

http://www.phoenixfittestingservices.co.uk/

Have all my chaps on all the sites trained by 3m - added advantage that they train to their own product

you can contact dave.elsworth@bsif.co.uk who was involved with the Fit2Fit campaign and he can send you a list of accredited training companies.

Chris Beard who runs Phoenix Fit Testing Services (mail address on post above), also trains people in the qualitative fit method. You can buy the kit off him and allow half a day to get trained.

As others have stated, 3M will provide someone, but Moldex have lost their guy recently, and put me onto Chris Beard. He did a great job on quantatitive test and training us in qualatitive , so I am happy to recommend him.

Hope this helps
