Good evening Colleagues , My organisation is exhibiting at the IFE Show excel London next week and we have been asked by the organisers to produce a Risk Assessment /SSOW for the activities whilst out the show. Basically I am looking for a generic risk assessment & SSOW for moving equipment on to a stand setting up and the taking down and removing the equipment from the stand at the end of the show. Equipment will be a small freezer a ice sculpture electrical extension cables advertising stands etc. Has anyone done a Risk Assessment SSOW to satisfy the event organiser's and hopefully save me a little time in producing these documents required. Your co-operation in this matter will be appreciated Kind Regards Ian.

I assume from what you have said that you are not only wanting a risk assessment, but also a method statement for the works being undertaken? This (if done correctly) should satisfy a ssow. I would suggest getting your head down... "a generic risk assessment" in my opinion isn't worth the paper it is written on. Speaking a little more productively I would suggest looking at the MAC charts on the HSE site, this may help as I would assume lots of manual handling here.
