Posted By Carolyn Dark Can anyone tell me if the same standards for COSHH apply in the rest of the EU as well as the US or anywhere else. Do they use the same hazard signs, i.e. the skull and crossbones etc? I have searched the internet with no success.

Posted By Merv Newman Carolyn, I believe that all of the major european countries have implemented their equivalents of COSHH, (at varying dates)including the symbols. US legislation is something else, as are the signs and symbols they use. Merv Newman

Posted By Bob Howden You might find some information relative to this in Council Directive 98/24/EC The Protection of Health and Safety of Workers from the Risks Related to Chemical Agents at Work. There are some references to this in a recent Consultative Document (CD166) published on the HSE Web Site. Regards Bob Howden
