Posted By Jack Yo might find HS(G)183 "5 Steps to Risk Assessment - Case Studies" even more helpful. One of the case studies is an office.

Posted By Richard Barry I appreciate the reasoning behind your question, but do bear in mind that a risk assessment is a risk assessment no matter what the environment. My own experience is that office workers are more at risk from, for instance, manual handling (bulk mail, photocopy paper) than engineers. Also don't forget to look outside the office. Many "office workers" regularly visit the shop floor Richard

Posted By Ken Taylor You could refer to INDG 244 'Workplace Health Safety & Welfare' and INDG 173 'Officewise' - both free from the HSE.

Posted By Stephen Gallagher Barry, A useful website that I have come across for office safety can be accessed at www.openerg.com/ If you click on 'safe office practice zone' you will find some information, both written and visual, that should be of assistance. Stevie

Posted By Adrian Watson Barry, The best book I have found on H&S in small companies is practical Health and safety management for small businessess ISBN 9 78050 646802 £14.99. It's advice is both sensible and practical, and it is geared to identifying and managing risks in "low risk" environments. Regards Adrian Watson
