Folks I have been asked to enter our company into one of the categories of the ROSPA award. I would like to speak to someone who has entered the award and possibly get some useful tips and advice. Is there anyone who could give me some advice our who I could possibly contact by email or phone. Thankyou and any help would be appreciated. Eddy

I've been involved in submissions for RoSPA Achievement awards over the last 4-5 years successfully gaining Gold with my previous employer and Silver with my current. If this is the type of award you looking to go for I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have so feel free to contact me via private message. If it's one of the specialist awards you are looking at then I'm afraid I can't offer any advice.

I completed our application for the president award this year (14 years). Its pretty straight forward but does take time to prepare the evidence.

I complete the submission for my workplace, have 3 silvers and a gold. Its a good system but i have found the judging to be a bit contradictory, liming the amount of evidence they will look at per answer, but then scoring down for not having enough evidence. Also, one main issue, Occupational health and safety is NOT the same as workplace H&S, i know that sounds odd, but many things you would expect to answer their questions are actually specifically about occupational health, so if you dont have a lot of first aid incidents or accidents, you may have issues proving you actually record stuff. Oh and they like KPI's...like a LOT! I know i sound a bit jaded, but after paying £200 for feedback, getting 5 pages of sparsley filled a4 back, basically saying No/Little evidence submitted when i gave at least 8 examples per question (they only look at first 8) i was a bit miffed to get silver.
