I am delivering a 3 day H&S training session shortly to a group of pub managers and other grades of pub/restaurant personnel. It is a pre-determined course content of a general H&S nature, As I have not delivereed to this industry in the past I would like if possible to use some specific pub/restaurant H&S video materials/graphics or other engaging materials. Any suggestions re sources of same?

Thank you guys, all helpful.

I have now visited a couple of pubs (back of the scenes ) from a safety perspective! After coming from a reasonably safe industrial scene with lots of controls (RA,MS, SOPs, training records etc) and then seeing how a small pub chain  manages its safety, its very interesting to say the least. It appears to me that insurance companies, safety authorities etc do not put the same effort into these type of premises as your standard Industrial or Construction places of work.

With all due respect I advise that U get a competent person in to provide the info as U would get a competent person in for other areas to which U have no experience. As the comment ' its very interesting to say the least' sends warning vibes to me

Learn from the competent person so as U gain experience etc. and then you would be better placed to deliever in the future

Generic presentations do nothing but put people off especially re H&Safety so such training should be specific to suit the people/industery present and these workplaces are completely different to construction, warehouses, officies etc. especially when dealing with the public e.g. the HSE low rated shops yet there is more H&S problems in shops [just ask the police and workers therein] than anywhere else and insurers/enforcers know the problems and act accordingly.  BOLuck

I agree, often with small businesses in the hospitailty industry health and safety can be very informal. With the amount of public coming in you would expect there to be more rigourous control and implementation of the guidance.
