I am looking for advice regarding HAVS reporting under RIDDOR.

An operative working in an engineering environment (sheet metal fabrication - welding/grinding etc) where health surveillance has recently been introduced has been identified as having HAVS type symptoms by the visiting Occ Health Services provider, the operative has been for a Tier 3 assessment and has been referred for a Tier 4 assessment.

The operative hasn't lost any time from work and has been with the company for 2 years. My question is at what point is this reportable under RIDDOR ??

I believe its once they receive a formal diagnosis of suffering hand arm vibration syndrome from a Doctor. At the moment it sounds like your still in the assessment stage.

This link may help.  http://www.hse.gov.uk/riddor/occupational-diseases.htm
