Looks very dodgy (HSE head office is in Bootle); where are you based/what's your local HSE office?

Call the HSE enquiries line and let them know.

One give away would be the email address, most fake emails will try to trick people by using a genuine senders name, but look closely at the email address its self, it will more than likely be made up of random letters and numbers.

Hi

It could be genuine (I seem to recall getting one of these a few years ago, and it was from the HSE) and the HSE  do still have an office in Newcastle upon Tyne (Alnwick House).  Their phone number is 020 3028 2600 if you want to check it out.

Even if it is from the HSE you are under no obligation to give them your company details ( unlike HMRC etc)

True, but it might trigger a visit...

We have several sites, and when they got in touch with us a few years ago it was just to confirm that all of the sites were still operational, and in the same place.  The Fire Service also contact us from time to time for the same info.

Without up to date info they might just decide to leave the office to check for themselves.

I think that is the same building as the HMRC

Only too pleased for them to come along; after all what do we have to hide?

If you view the "Header or properties" information in the email, it will show you where the email originated from.

Then you can Google how to "Finger an email address"

This will probably be quicker than calling people.
