I am auditing our training files and have found a few differences in Training Standards.

I understand that  SMSTS is more suited for a Contractor overseeing a number of other trades and companies on site, ie as a PC and that SSSTS is for a single contractor site.

The referances i find describe SMSTS or equivalent qualification is required in the former but  I ask, what are  the equivalents ?

I have contacted various training bodies and so far not one has come back to me with a written explanation of the equivalents to these qualificatons are.

Anyone shed light?

SMSTS is for a manager & SSSTS is for a supervisor. If you are on a site and managing it then even with one contractor then SMSTS and the supervisors below you SSSTS.
