Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing shortage in supply of masks - particularly FFP3 types.

I have been asked what people should do if they cannot physically get hold of these masks.

Hmm, interesting. We always stock several months worth so I a mnot sure. Does make me wonder if I could sell them on now though..... only £50 per mask! Get them whilst they are still in stock. guaranteed to protect you from viruses, bacteria and zombie pandemics* . Only a few left.

You would have to list on an auction site - a certain market place has been removing price gougers (or so it claims)

If supplies are drying up then for those who put them as a first control measure for work place risks - Oh dear.

We are having trouble obtaining hand sanitisers.

Someone is getting through an awful lot of them or they are hoarding them to push the price up.

I would not worry too much about the masks. If you look into the real facts they provide very little protection against COVID-19 and according to some experts may actually inrease the potential for inhalation thereof. One has even stated that the main benefit of the mask is that it prevents the wearer from touching the area around mouth and nose!

The alcohol sanitiser is another matter. I was training at one of the major industrial skin care product manufacturers last week and they assured me that they had plenty of stock to manage a surge in demand. Perhaps he shortage is due to a problem with the supply chain. From the scientific evidence this is the optimum solution, hand washing restricted to where the skin is visibly soiled, since this largely negates the performance of the alcohol.

Thanks for responses - interesting to hear that sanitiser is also an issue.  I think that there may be some suppliers that are jumping on the 'lets make some money' band wagon but also it appears that some people do believe that the masks can help provide protection from Corona Virus, so there may be a geniuine shortage in some areas.

One national web site indicates they have supplies but are saving them for their existing customer base. They even have a Covid catalogue page but strangely seems to promote one of two half face masks so not the disposables many would expect. Captcha BUgZ
