Hi,

Please can you direct me to guidance on the maxiumum duration people should wear a face mask during the working day?

As we all know face masks are in very high demand.

Thanks

Look at HSG 53 ‘Respiratory protective equipment at work-A practical guide’ table 2 which describes the types of RPE and how long the recommended use time is.

As with any piece of work equipment the manufacturer/supplier printed instruction is generally invaluable as they have designed it for a specific use against a particular standard or set of standards.

What it won't say is that it is OK to abuse the suggested use hours just because there is a shortage in supply.

I am just wondering how many people having been issued with disposable face mask will now instead of disposing of it, stick in the pocket and wear it again next day.

When I do face fit testing I come across these people who just don’t get it. They turn and take out this grubby mask which they have touched  on the inside with their contaminated  fingers.

Is this the end of CE marking?

With an influx of RPE and ventilators from China, this could spell the end of CE marking.

All you FFT er's out there would you test someone with a non CE Chinese produced mask?
