The labors of big constructions companies are accomodated in labor camps. If a labor is positive with COVID-19 who can we apply the Qurantine rules to others in the camp. I mean what precautions shall be taken.

Thanks sir, i am intrested in rules from any country, the information is rare and it could help us in developing some good practices and saving lives.

Please refer to the top of the page = any reply is the respondents own opinion and not necessarily a national stand point. For example whilst most of Europe is operating social distancing and has closed interaction points (shops, cinemas, bars, restaraunts etc.) others such as Sweden have not.

The rules regarding labor camps and any Covid outbreak will come down to national consideration.

Within the UK we do not operate Labor Camps and so have little to no experience of such activities.

Where large numbers of construction workers were living in site accomodation many have been sent home to isolate as the construction has been suspended.

aahse, I think that Roundtuit and I probably both share your concern (I do!), but neither of us has found out what rules any part of GCC has put in place.

WHO is still the starting point for the development of appropriate guidance. LOTS of guidance on the WHO website.

So......

1. Physical distancing - WHO says minimum of one metre. US says 6 feet and the UK 2 metres (though confusingly has translated that as 6 feet rather than 6 feet 6 inches).

2. Frequent hand washing.

3. Segregation of anyone showing symptoms - fever OR new and persistent cough. That means segregated sleeping accommodation, toilets, washing facilities etc. If not enough toilets, showers etc, then get more and in the meantime increase the frequency of cleaning them so that there is less risk to those not infected being infected.

4. Then it becomes much more difficult.......what PPE to use on someone with symptoms - mostly to protect those tending to their needs - medical care, providing food and water etc etc,,,,,,,what PPE to provide those needing to be in very close proximity to provide medical care - top of the range disposable filtering face piece respirators (ANSI N95 or EC FFP3) or reusable respirator to similar standard + disposable gloves and aprons + face protection (which might be included as part of a full face respirator AND

5. Perhaps slightly lower standard of PPE for those cleaning the accommodation, providing (and removing) food and water AND

6. All this needs lots of training and carefully thought out safe systems of work - lots of discipline including when people are removing a lot of PPE.

7. AND what to do with any corpses,

8. AND trying to enable those sick (as well as those who are not) to maintain contact with their families.

To name but a few. Difficult enough here in the UK - MUCH morer difficult to plan in Labor camps in Middle East or elsewhere.
