Hi can anyone assist with the relevant standards for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) from vessel (ship) to shore terminals (marine bunkering) as I am unable to find any relating to LPG only LNG?

Cheers

Si

Si, there is lots and lots of international guidance on the storage and handling of LPG in marine and land settings. There is sufficient data to enable Quantified Risk Assessment of many of the activities that would be involved in the scenario you describe.

Assuming that you are in the UK, the starting point would be HSG 186, free download from the HSE website.

The quantities involved could also bring COMAH into play and there is stuff on HSE website about this too.

www.hse.gov.uk/comah/sraglpg/index.htm

Not promising that site address will work. Copied it from a report I did 10 years ago.

Hi Peter,

Thanks I will have a look at HSG 186 unfotunately as I am in Africa COMAH is not applicable, I have been looking at BS EN:1532 (referenced on HSE website) and ISO:28460 which deals with LNG and what I am after is a specific standard that deals solely with LPG.

Cheers

May be of help. The organisation claims to be aligned with UNECE.
