As some of those registered on the IOSH Forums will have noticed, we are increasingly bugged by the placing of adverts which are prohibited. Off the top of my head I think that it is Rule No 8.

Whilst it is perfectly valid to take the XXXX out of those posting, though probably a waste of time as those posting are relying on people clicking links and probably never visit to see how much traffic they have achieved....

Please would the first person simply hit the REPORT button and tell the rest of us that this has been done.

Then, by all means, resort to making fun of the poster. I forgot to check the date of birth of the latest miscreant.

Thanks to all. P

I feel it's counterproductive to comment on these posts as it keeps them on the front page and showing as unread, so that more people end up seeing them.

I think it would be better to report and then ignore.

Been there, done that, total inaction from IOSH - it beggars belief that this is supposed to be a Professional Organisation.  Bet they use velcro fixings on their shoes, 'cos I can't see them being able to tie a shoelace

I wouldn't dream of virtually slapping you, Brian.

The responses are sometimes entertaining, nevertheless it's my personal opinion that responding is counterproductive.

...it would useful to have some moderators around even just to confirm they exist... :)

I do indulge in the sport of baiting scammers and wasting their time...I am currently waiting for my tax refund from the HMRC office in Nigeria..

What you are seeing here is 'click baiting'...Click bait is employed by marketeers to drive website traffic can be harmful to businesses especially small businesses who are trying to gain a web presence...as Google etc are now reviewing the sources and companies that employ the tactic and punishing with bans or not listing them in searches....so if you are reading this Mr Driving Training...you are punishing yourself and I am sure you are paying for the privilege..  :)

Not to forget the malware potential, and the problem with the exchange of information between your browser and the malign website....

A friend of mine had a good way of annoying unwanted e-mailers and such. He bulk sent all the junk mail he got for the week and sent them back to each one. It might not stop them but i am sure he had fun doing it. Pity we can't do that with commercial posts here.
