We are having a large display item hanging from steel section roof. The calcs have been done and there is no issue with the structure to take the weight of the display. My question is what would the inspection regime be for the fixing eyes fitted at high level to the steel beams and the fixings on the display piece? does it follow the general LOLER theme of annually? or can the need for this be minimised due to there being several fixing points minimising the risk should one fail. The access for inspection would be difficult but not impossible.

Once it's in place I don't believe LOLER applies.
LOLER doesn't apply to (for example) a shelf, even though it's supporting something off the ground. I don't LOLER the many wall-mounted TV screens in my offices, even the humungous metres-wide ones.
PUWER still applies, but if it's a static item without flucturating load and with a reasonable margin on collapse I would not expect it to need particular periodic inspection. If it's external and might flap around (so potentially is susceptible to fatigue or progressive loosening of fixings etc) it would probably be different. In any case, it's likely sufficiently outside what is routine that you need to make a reasonable assesmnet of the necesary management (and prepared to defend your assessmnet in the witness box if necesary...)
