Which Companies are going above and beyond to provide a Home Office?

I would be grateful if anyone wouldnt mind sharing to what extent yours or other companies are providing home office equipment? Are they providing just IT? Are they allowing you to take your chair home? Are they allowing you to buy your own and reimburse you? Are they providing a one time allowance, non-repayable? Would be interested to know who is really going above or beyond. Thanks

what do you consider to be "above and beyond"? The computer is a given for most homeworking, using the office chair is not exceptional. Charging a new chair to expenses for an office worker just about creeps over the line. BTW we aren't allowed to bring company assetts (chairs) home Edited by user 07 September 2020 17:39:10(UTC)

Raises a couple of quick Qs.
would a one off allowance be taxable?
if I'm asked to,buy a chair, what guidance is being given, would it be invoiced to the company or would,I buy and claim? As a home office, accepting it's not directly DSE, but what about file storage ( secure to protect confidential info) printer etc.
is WFH helping us toward sa more paperless office in the future?

For those that move to significant or regular home working permanently we will be supplying all the immediate IT equipment (two 24" screens, laptop dock, mouse, keyboard, cables) but not any printing / scanning facilities (if you need that, come to the office). We are expecting the user to supply reliable internet connectivity, heat, light, space and furniture. Anyone who cannot / does not want to supply those can return to the office full time.
In the temporary case we've allowed people to take their office chair home, but we expect all those to return and will not be funding home furniture (unless in exceptional cases, but I'm not sure what they would be when full-time office working is an option).
All this is predicated on the fact that we are not expecting or requiring anyone to work at home, we are permitting it if they want to and can provide an appropriate long-term arrangement. This is against a background of having almost no-one working at home regularly previously (despite previous requests) on the grounds that a number of directors didn't believe people could work at home efficiently. So far this year has been better financially than 2019 or 2018 was, however, which rather scuppers that argument.
