Hi all,

Hope you are well.

I moved to the UK last year and have been trying to settle here. I have taken a NEBOSH National General Certificate exam and waiting for the result.

I have been working as an occupational safety specialist since 2011. I used to work at various industry sectors such as warehouse, electronic devices company, producing metal part of furniture factory, producing industrial type cooking machinery factory, etc. in my country. I have ISO 45001 and 9001 certificates.

I would like to work in warehouse and I want to improve my general knowledge regarding health and safety in the UK. What kind of way should I follow to achieve that?

In addition to that I have seen some warehouse job ads which included "following legal requirements". I think that is wide responsibility. Meanwhile, I have already read the documents as NEBOSH suggested but nevertheless, I want to know more details. Could you please give me some advice how to cope that?

Thank you in advance.

Good day,

NEBOSH Cert is a reasonable place to start with your qualifications although as a relatively new resident you may find the International exam less challenging in the event of the awaited results not being successful. The HSE website is a good source of useful information. If you're intent on working in warehousing I would suggest initially taking any job in warehousing as that experience will undoubtedly help you be a better advisor when you find such a role.
