Hi

Can anyone advise on what would be required from someone intending to use an LPG Cylinder and gas barbecue at an outside event run for charity. Clearly a Fixed Installation requires a gas safe cert but this is not a fixed installation. I know a risk assessment will be needed but what else? I don't wish to bury the Womens Institute under a mountain of paperwork if I can avoid it.

Thank you fellow H&S brothers and sisters.

Given current news mutterings will such an event be occurring?

Risk Assess who will be present / could be harmed and establish suitable controls particularly distancing controls for the very young or vulnerable, weather wise ensure the ground is not likely to result in slips and falls but do not put the BBQ inside a tent (under a gazebo is OK) - as you recognise it is not a fixed installation so no Gas Safe etc. required.

We used to drag our cylinder & BBQ to help the local school with their fund raising (never left it unattended or under the control of others).
