A client (grounds maintenance) has asked me to recommend what H&S training his management team reequire; I have suggested the IOSH Managing safely for the Operations Director and the training manager; and the NEBOSH certificate for the contract mamager, who deals with all issues on sites (not construction), and who will be undertaking risk assessments and developing H&S documentation and auditing; what are your thoughts

I suggest the NCRQ equivalents of those as they have had better reviews from my colleagues at least than IOSH and NEBOSH.

The simple answer to your question is to carry out a training needs analysis (TNA) based upon their job description and allotted duties within your company H&S Policy, rather than looklng for a generic training course.

I have done a basic TNA and decided on the managing safely (or equivalent) course as the course content covers all their responsibilities. But thought the NEBOSH for the contract manager was more indepth
