Sorry if already been covered but I have been made redundant after 36 years at Heathrow and the last 15 years been a senior Health and safety rep.
I now am looking for further employment and a lot of companies are asking for iosh accreditation.
I have a diploma in a number of iosh disciplines and wondered where and what I can do to
1 better my education
2, increase my potential of getting employment.
I know it’s an open question but as I said 36 years in one job

Hi Jon Depends on what you mean by IOSH accreditation but if you mean a level of IOSH membership, then there is a ladder up the IOSH structure. That structure is due for change in the near future as a result of the "Membership Restructuring proposals" but key grades are likely to remain linked to academic qualifications at European Qualifications Framework Levels 3 and 6 plus in each case full time equivalent experience doing health and safety duties. Suggest that you might want to start by getting in touch with IOSH Membership Deparment to discuss the options open to you. May be also connect with your local IOSH Branch who should have at least one Member assigned to help people up the ladder. So, go on to the IOSH website and look up Branches, choose yours and see who is on the Committee with what designated roles. [Note that Branch Executive elections are imminent so what is on the website may soon be out of date] Good luck, Peter
