Hi , wondering if anyone can help, I have heard anecdotally about a judgement whre during closing the PSDP was told by the Judge to monitor safety onsite, I have a situation where designs are being rolled out for signage on a national route with the PSDP approving the designs changes and the DRA's as issued by the Designer but does not visit the locations. Anyone heard of the judement I was told about or indeed have an opinion.

Roundtuit - PSDP indicates that we are dealing with the Irish equivalent of UK CDM Regulations. PSDP is the Project Supervisor, Design Process broadly in line with what is required by the EC Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites Directive and very roughly akin to the Principal Designer in CDM 2015. DRA - is not a term used in the Directive or the legislation, but is short for Design Risk Assessment, terminology that cause much debate in terms of value. Eleanor - don't know of the judgment, but the Judge's direction is unlikely to provide authoritative guidance on what the PSDP should and should not be doing on site during the construction phase.

Eire, as opposed to NI presumably. On that basis, it seems that the Irish have taken the Project Supervisor role from the Directive and renamed it PSPD. Note that the Directive identifies the Project Supervisor as having a continuing role from concept design to practical completion (but presumably that doesn't preclude the role changing hands). In that context, the Judge's comments make sense. In the UK we have a Regulatory split, with the PD having no responsibility for site activity beyond any continuing design and Health and Safety File info. gathering at construction phase (and of course CDM general duties).
