Hi all,

has anyone used the DuPont Safety Perception Survey? I am looking at using this within my place of work.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of the questions for this survey?

I have searched online and it looks like its only available through consultant sites only.

Hi,

Many years ago I worked for Dupont and they used to run the survey at all sites probably every eighteen months to two years.  Despite the description the survey is not as simple as a load of questions on a sheet of paper.  To run it they send in a range of internal consultants and specialists from across the company.  They spend about a week auditing and questioning a whole range of employees across the site. One of our engineers said to me it was like having the contents of your head downloaded.

The process is split down into areas such as production, engineering, design, maintainance, emergency response, internal and external transport etc.  At the end of the week interested parties are gathered together and percentage scores are awarded to the various functions.  The following week the database is updated and the graphs etc are shared.  The intelectual property for the survey and the software is owned by Dupont and they don't let it out for free, the whole process is led by their consultants (most of who have worked as Dupont employees for a long time), it is very expensive and time consuming.

So unless you are a very large company and are willing to involve your business in the process and pay for it. It may be wise to look for another cheaper and simpler way forward.
