CDM Construction Phase Plan - template request

Hi all,
I know they have previously been asked for before here, but I need to amend 1 I'm working on (yes over a bank holiday weekend!) in readiness for tuesday morning for a contractor client...the versions I am having to refer to and the cutting and pasting between is confusing/complicated and I need to bite the bullet and start a fresh to simplify matters.
Does anybody out there have a nice simple template to assist me in my time of need!
In case anybody asks, the work is to replace a district heating system within a 15 storey tower block (containing 95 flats) including the replacement of boilers on the roof. Full height scaffold will be provided to 1 elevation to assist with the installation of a new gas supply pipe up the side of the block.
thx in anticipation...

Ian,
have a look at appendix 3 of the ACoP, pps 105-107. It provides a useful structure and guide,
Philip

Phillip,
I nearly put 'and I am referring to the ACoP'...
I just would like the template set out ready with the headings, with save me loads of typing time! Someone might already have the table of contents set-up and linked with their headings in ms word etc etc
thx...

Yes, Alabaster, we can all read the relevant headings in HSE free guidance L153, but the construction phase plan needs to be bespoke to the project and not with some elements pre-determined in a generic template. As example the fire precautions listed in your template may be inappropriate for many sites. How is this going to work on an infrastructure project that might be kilometres in length? Users of these Forums would be much better taking the guidancce in L153 and creating their own template, which reflects THEIR management systems. Might also mean that they get the correct title of CDM 2015 which does NOT have an ampersand. So your advertorial is not particularly useful. P Edited by user 24 December 2021 14:14:41(UTC)

It's a free template to OBVIOUSLY edit and make bespoke to a project, it's a good starting point for anyone to use and FREE. What is wrong with you?

Daniel, why hide under a pseudonym? You did a subtle marketing exercise that just (I think) kept within the rules for marketing on these Forums. In my experience, small and medium sized contractors are better placed creating their own bespoke health and safety management systems than trying to take someone else's template and adapting it to suit exactly their mix of construction projects. They can use exactly the same source guidance as used in your commercial template to do so. The difference between us is that unfortunately I have investigated far more fatal and less serious accidents than you are ever likely to to, and that does give me a level of understanding of what works and what is unlikely to work. ...and in terms of construction projects I have seen just about everything from the one man repair up to the multibillion ££ programmes. L153 is "a good starting point for anyone to use and FREE." Personally, I think that L144 was/is a better starting point. Also free if you look hard enough for it and recognise that it supported the previous iteration of CDM (but date of iteration is of little relevance as regards the duties on contractors in terms of the CPP) L153 was described by one commentator as "lite". A reflection of HSE under political pressure to produce guidance with less clout, and definitely not to be given the status of an Approved Code of Practice (as L144 was).

It doesn't take a genius to find my name.... what's wrong with having my OWN username?
It's a free template, that can help, there isn't a request for email or number or a sales pitch, it's free.
I was under the impression this forums purpose was to help and provide a source of information?
There is very little point bragging about your experience, have some humility.
Why not post a solution without the negativity or the 'iosh rule breaking' comments which are within every other one of your posts.
You are obviously bitter about something, and are probably doing more harm than good on this forum.
I'm not going to play your game Peter, I appreciate you probably want the last word but I won't be responding ....

Alabaster - negativity within all my other posts? So, why do the stats show 1620 "thanks"? [approximating to about 4 thanks for every 10 posts I have made since the Forums were relaunched] - ironically, including one from you! A simple matter of experience. As you say it's not difficult to identify your real identity and the internet shows how long you have spent as a health and safety professional. I investigated my first construction fatality in 1982 - a lot of acquired understanding since, including that generic templates rarely work. Now forgive my cynicism, but when someone running a consultancy company provides a link to a free template on their website I asssume they are trying to get some traffic with a commercial intent and that assumption becomes stronger when I look at your history on these Forums: So, 18 postings in total. Nine in 2018 when you were doing a different job and, in general, asking real questions about real problems. Five between 8 November 2020 and 20 October 2021. Then four since the 24 December when you mysteriously unearthed a thread that had lied buried for over 13 years to provide a link to your website - this looks suspiciously like a subtle advert (otherwise why do it after so long?) - then complain when I suggest that your solution might not be optimal. As I wrote earlier I don't think your posting on Christmas Eve breached Forum Rule 8, but it was very close to the line. P
